Cycling - Teutenberg and Littbarski-Gray win omnium title
Track cycling athlete Tim Torn Teutenberg from Cologne successfully defended his title from last year at the German Omnium Championships in Frankfurt (Oder). The U23 European champion won on Saturday evening after scratch, tempo laps, elimination and points race with 126 points ahead of Max-David Briese (120/Rostock) and Benjamin Boos (117/Erfurt). Multiple German champion and two-time Madison world champion Roger Kluge from Berlin was absent due to the six-day race in Rotterdam, which was taking place at the same time.
There was a new women's title winner in Seána Littbarski-Gray from Erfurt. The 18-year-old, who was this year's Junior European Champion in the points race, won with 122 points ahead of Fabienne Jährig (115/Berlin) and Lena Charlotte Reißner (112/Erfurt). Defending champion Lea Lin Teutenberg from Cologne was unable to compete due to an international assignment in Grenchen/Switzerland.
