Testing company Dekra expects sales growth
Despite the crisis in the global economy, the inspection company Dekra is expecting an increase in turnover this year. "We are very confident that we will achieve a turnover of over four billion euros this year," said Dekra CEO Stan Zurkiewicz on Thursday. The company expects all business areas and regions to significantly exceed their revenues from the previous year - some with strong double-digit growth.
The auditing company is thus meeting the targets it has set itself. In 2022, turnover amounted to just under 3.8 billion euros. The Group is also expecting growth in the coming year despite the volatile market environment. In addition to the traditional business, services for future technologies, for example in the areas of artificial intelligence, cyber security, sustainability and mobility, are expected to contribute to this. Dekra did not provide exact figures for 2024.
The expected growth indicates the continuation of a longer-term trend: Dekra's turnover is growing continuously. Only in 2020 it did not increase for the first time in 16 years due to the pandemic. Profit fell by 10.7 percent to 126.4 million euros in 2022 due to a one-off effect in the previous year. Dekra did not comment on the expected result for this year on Thursday.
Dekra was originally founded with the aim of ensuring road safety through vehicle inspections. Today, the company sees itself as the world's largest expert organization in the fields of testing, inspection and certification. Dekra has almost 50,000 employees in around 60 countries.
Dekra's services in the field of information technology, such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, are expected to contribute to the company's growth in the coming year. The quarterly figures for the company's business areas and regions will likely show significant revenue increases compared to the previous year.
