Wetterau district - Terraced house catches fire: Family of four rescued

A multi-storey terraced house in Altenstadt(Wetterau district) completely caught fire on Tuesday night. The family of four living there was rescued, according to the police. Contrary to initial assumptions, there were no injuries: a 16-year-old girl did not suffer smoke inhalation after all, the police reported on Tuesday afternoon. According to initial estimates, the damage to property is in the mid six-figure range.

According to the police, the fire affected the first floor, second floor and roof of the house, but was extinguished relatively quickly. In the early morning, only extinguishing work was still being carried out. The cause of the fire was initially unknown. The fire broke out on the second floor, said a police spokesman.
