A homeless man was injured in Berlin's Tiergarten when his tent was set on fire. The 42-year-old is in the hospital with burn injuries to his leg, as reported by the police. The incident occurred Saturday morning near the Lichtenstein Bridge. Police are investigating the case as suspected arson and grievous bodily harm.

According to the man's account, he initially tried to help himself, but the burns were so severe that he had to go to the hospital. There, he reported that an unknown person had opened his tent in the large Tiergarten, poured a liquid over his leg, and then set it on fire. The unknown person then fled the scene. The man said he extinguished the fire on his leg in a nearby body of water. His tent was completely destroyed by the fire.

Despite the hospital treatment, the man's struggle with homelessness continues, as he now has no shelter. The incident has brought further attention to the issue of homelessness and safety in public parks.
