Tennis player Zverev intends to withdraw from the upcoming grass court event.

Alexander Zverev's quest for his maiden Grand Slam triumph may be postponed, as speculators at the Stuttgart event anticipate no Olympic champion's appearance. The local player from Hamburg might not participate at all.

German tennis sensation, Alexander Zverev, has little to no chance of participating in the Stuttgart grass tournament following his loss at the French Open. Zverev, 27, made this known after his defeat on Sunday at the hands of Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz with a score of 3-6, 6-2, 7-5, 1-6, 2-6: "The likelihood of me playing in Stuttgart is roughly on par with the probability of me leaving this very moment and securing victory."

Despite his recent statement, Zverev had earlier confirmed his attendance at the grass event in Baden-Württemberg's Weissenhof. The tournament organizers had been enthusiastically advertising his presence as part of the main field for the Stuttgart event, scheduled to kick off on Thursday.

Zverev's previous outing in Stuttgart dates back five years. In 2019, he suffered an early exit, this time at the hands of none other than Dustin Brown, a grass specialist from Lower Saxony.
