Ten injured in fire in apartment building: extensive damage
Ten people have been slightly injured in a fire in an apartment building in Alsbach-Hähnlein in southern Hesse. According to initial findings, a glass burst in the afternoon due to the heat of a tea light, which caused an apartment to catch fire, the police announced on Thursday. According to the report, two residents and eight neighbors complained of breathing difficulties due to the smoke. Four people, including the two residents of the apartment, were taken to hospital for further treatment. The other six injured people were reportedly treated on site and then discharged.
The affected apartment was said to be temporarily uninhabitable. According to the police, the other residents were able to return to their homes. According to initial calculations, the fire in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district caused damage amounting to several hundred thousand euros.
The fire in Alsbach-Häßlein, located in southern Hesse, severely damaged an apartment building. Emergency services reported that another incident of fires occurred in South Hesse, but details are not yet available.
