A teenage criminal stole a fire truck in Hildesheim and caused destruction for several hours. The police revealed that the incident happened when the thief broke into a fire station in Gronau by smashing a window. After stealing the command vehicle, the teenager drove it for miles between Hannover and Salzgitter before returning it to the fire station from where he had stolen it. This was revealed by the police on Tuesday.

By the moment they knew about the situation, the boy had already damaged the fire engine. The police have since opened a criminal investigation. The exact age of the teenager, who is legally over the age of 14 and without a driver's license, is not revealed by the authorities.

Meanwhile, a 12-year-old boy in the Diepholz district made two attempts to join a firefighting tour by stealing cars. The boy was initially stopped by the police on Monday after he stole a key from the changing room at a sports hall. He wanted to make a getaway with the car. However, he was apprehended by bystanders before managing to start the engine.

Later, the kid tried to continue his journey by taking another stolen car. But soon, he was engulfed by several police patrol cars. The boy was accompanied by his 16-year-old friend who also tried to make a getaway with the second stolen vehicle. Both the kids were taken to the police station and then handed over to their legal guardians.
