Near Aachen in Herzogenrath, two youths torch a sign promoting the political party Die Linke in the dead of night on a Wednesday. The police received a tip, causing a team to extinguish the flaming display. Proximate to the scene, two young men attracted the attention of the officers, initially viewed as potential culprits. Both 18 and 19 years, they denied any involvement. Eventually, a witness stepped forward, presenting a video capturing the crime. The state protection began an inquiry into the duo for arson-related destruction of property.
