Teenagers break into school and trigger amok alarm
Two teenagers have broken into a school in Bergen (Vorpommern-Rügen district), triggering an amok alarm. According to a police spokesman, there was no danger of amok. The two 14- and 15-year-olds had triggered the school's warning system and thus the alarm by breaking in on Friday evening.
According to the police, an eighth grade class had been in the building for an overnight event during the incident. Due to the alarm being triggered, the sleepover had to be canceled. The pupils were picked up by their parents. The two suspects are now facing charges of trespassing, damage to property and misuse of emergency calls.
The alarm caused by the teenagers' actions could have potentially escalated into an emergency situation within the school. Fortunately, their actions were only classified as a crime, specifically trespassing, damage to property, and misuse of emergency calls.
