Teenager sprays irritant gas: 18 pupils slightly injured
A teenager sprayed irritant gas at a secondary school in Philippsburg (Karlsruhe district) on Friday. 18 pupils were slightly injured and suffered eye and skin irritation, according to a police spokesman. In a gymnasium, the 14-year-old had unintentionally fired several sprays. Several children and young people were taken to hospital for further treatment as a precaution. The pepper spray was recovered by the police.
Following this incident, the school implemented emergency procedures, notifying parents and authorities about the crime. The local youth center also offered support to affected children and youth, emphasizing the importance of handling such substances responsibly.
