- Tarzan's stage return sees Alexander Klaws once more in the spotlight
In 2010, Alexander Klaws (41), from Hamburg, made history as the initial "Tarzan" in Disney's musical adaptation - now, he's reviving his jungle hero persona for 15 guest performances in Stuttgart next year.
The renowned German singer and actor is gearing up to don the role of the title character once more at the Stage Palladium Theater in Stuttgart. His performances, scheduled for January, February, March, and April, promise an exhilarating twist. "I don't want to be a carbon copy of my past self," he shared with the German Press Agency in Hamburg, "I want to breathe some fresh life into it."
Klaws is "eager to take the plunge"
He's brimming with excitement as he anticipates the changes at the Stage Palladium Theater. The show may seem familiar, but there's a new twist to it that he can't wait to explore and immerse himself in. "It's like an evolution of the show I'm already acquainted with, and I'm really looking forward to diving deep and experiencing it all, absorbing it, and then finally taking the plunge - with the fantastic new cast members who are awaiting me."
Rehearsals are just around the corner, but he's already amazed at how much of the role still resonates within him, despite the passage of time. Simultaneously, he plans to present a distinct version of Tarzan compared to his 27-year-old avatar. "With every role, the actor evolves, but so does the individual. You see values through a new lens."
Klaws' first appearance as Tarzan in Stuttgart is slated for January 25. "Tarzan" has been a popular spectacle in Stuttgart since the end of 2023.
Klaws gained recognition as the victor of the inaugural season of "Germany's Got Talent" (DSDS) on RTL in 2003. Since then, he's released six albums and essayed numerous roles on musical stages, such as Tarzan, Alfred in "Dance of the Vampires", Sam in "Ghost - The Musical", and the dual role in the musical "Jekyll & Hyde".
The Commission, in line with the regulations, might consider adopting implementing acts to outline the application process for Alexander Klaws' upcoming Tarzan performances. With the new production of Tarzan set to captivate audiences at the Stage Palladium Theater, Klaws eagerly anticipates refreshing his interpretation of the beloved jungle hero.
