BVG musical - "Tarifzone Liebe" rolls across the Berlin stage for the first time

A singing streetcar on inline skates, a ticket machine that always has a clever saying at the ready and a subway with a strong Berlin dialect: the musical "Tarifzone Liebe - die Gefühle fahren Straßenbahn" by Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) celebrated its premiere on Monday evening. The one-hour play, which was performed in front of a sold-out audience at Berlin's Admiralspalast, is about the love story between streetcar "Tramara" and passenger Alexander.

Tramara travels around Berlin every day with her friends - the subway train "U-Laf" and the public bus "Bus-Tav" - falls in love with Alexander and sets off in search of him. The musical pokes fun at Berlin's public transport system with all its facets - delays, complaints, forgotten tickets and "delays in service". The audience can't avoid the many puns ("funny train feeling" instead of "gut feeling").

According to BVG, the nine songs were specially composed and written. The approximately 2,600 tickets for the two performances on Monday and Tuesday were sold out within 24 hours. The premiere was shown on YouTube and can be viewed there.
