High damage - Tanker truck overturns - 350,000 euros damage

More than a quarter of a million Euro in damages resulted from a truck that veered off the road in Simbach am Inn (Rottal-Inn district). The tanker truck, which carried 18,000 liters of heating oil, allegedly came off the road for unknown reasons on Monday, according to the police statement on Tuesday. The vehicle overturned as a result.

Fortune favors the brave: No oil leaked out and the 53-year-old driver remained unharmed. However, damages to the vehicle were estimated to be around 350,000 Euro by the police.

The incident caused significant traffic disruptions in Lower Bavaria, leading to lengthy delays for other road users. In a similar incident earlier this year in Bavaria, a tanker truck carrying hazardous chemicals was involved in an accident, causing extensive damage and emergency responses. The high damage from such incidents highlights the importance of proper vehicle maintenance and road safety measures. Unfortunately, accidents involving heavy vehicles are not uncommon in Lower Bavaria, adding to the region's emergency services' workload.
