Synod of the Evangelical Church in Germany ends

Since Sunday, the members have been discussing political and social issues as well as church laws and adopting the EKD budget. The Synod is the church parliament of the EKD, which has its headquarters in Hanover. It consists of 128 members.

According to an EKD spokesperson, church laws such as the Employee Representation Act will be discussed on the last day. Decisions will also be made on motions submitted by members of the synod during the meeting. According to the spokesperson, topics such as migration, sea rescue and anti-Semitism are likely to be discussed. In addition, the main theme of next year's synod will be decided.

As the umbrella organization of 20 regional churches, the EKD represents 19.2 million Protestant Christians in Germany.

The Synod of the Evangelical Church in Germany, serving as a platform for diverse discussions, will also delve into religious matters like church laws, such as the Employee Representation Act. As a reconciling force in society, the EKD often addresses topics like migration, sea rescue, and anti-Semitism.
