In Weingarten (District of Karlsruhe), according to SWR reports, a woman is believed to have been murdered. Since early morning hours, a large police operation is ongoing in the 10,000-inhabitant community. A spokesperson of the police informed SWR that the alleged perpetrator is currently being hunted. A spokesperson of the Karlsruhe Police Headquarters was initially unreachable for inquiries.

A helicopter was also in use to search for the alleged perpetrator. According to SWR, the police are asking drivers not to pick up hitchhikers in the Weingarten area. Further information was initially not available.
