Soccer - Swedish former international Bo Larsson dies
Swedish soccer is mourning the death of former international Bo Larsson. The former attacking player and World Cup participant in 1970, 1974 and 1978 died at the age of 79, as the Swedish Football Association announced on Tuesday. Larsson played for VfB Stuttgart between 1966 and 1969. "VfB will always keep Bo Larsson in honorable memory," the Swabian Bundesliga club announced on the death of the player, who scored the first Bundesliga treble for VfB in the 1966/1967 season.
He was an icon in Malmö in particular, winning the Swedish championship six times with the club between 1965 and 1977. In 546 games for Malmö FF, he scored 289 goals and was Sweden's top scorer three times. "For many, Bosse Larsson was the greatest MFF player of all time," wrote Malmö.
