Due to a burning object on the schoolyard of a high school in Hamburg-Wandsbek, firefighters and police were called out to a major incident overnight. A witness had alerted the fire department shortly after midnight, reporting that they had seen a fire in front of the Charlotte-Paulsen-Gymnasium, as a police spokesman said. Something burning was lying in front of the door, which looked dangerous and technical. Therefore, a bomb disposal expert was called to the scene, who examined the smaller part and eventually defused it.

Whether it was actually a type of explosive material could not be said by the spokesman. "We don't know what was burning. It was something smaller." Initial findings suggest that it was thrown onto the school's courtyard through the letterbox of the wooden gate. There were no major fire damages and no one was injured. The incident was over by around 3:50 AM. Earlier, the radio station NDR 90,3 had reported on it.

The flames from the burning object caused a significant concern, threatening to spread within the schoolyard. Thankfully, the quick action of the firefighters managed to extinguish the fire before it could spread further, avoiding any potential fire-related damages.
