Suspicious letters sent to two Leipzig schools
Two schools in the south of Leipzig called the emergency services on Monday morning because of suspicious letters. Staff at the schools found envelopes containing a powdery substance in the letterboxes, as the police announced on Monday. According to investigations by the fire department, the powder was not dangerous. No evacuations were necessary. The police have begun investigating the sender of the letters.
The incident caused a tense atmosphere at the schools,with teachers and students closely monitoring for any signs of crime. The police are also urging parents to be vigilant and report any unusual occurrences related to emergencies in the school premises.
