Suspicion of drug trafficking: five suspects arrested
Investigators have arrested five people in Upper Swabia on suspicion of organized drug trafficking. The suspects, aged between 29 and 73, are in custody, according to a joint press release issued by the public prosecutor's office and Ravensburg police headquarters on Wednesday. This follows months of investigation by the Friedrichshafen criminal investigation department and the Ravensburg public prosecutor's office.
In September, the police arrested two men during a handover in Bad Schussenried (Biberach district). Investigators found kilograms of cocaine on site and, during subsequent searches, 100,000 euros in cash and other drugs. In November, they also discovered drugs during further searches near Leutkirch (Ravensburg district) and Friedrichshafen (Lake Constance district) and arrested two more men and a woman.
The seized drugs are a significant contribution to the ongoing investigation into organized drug trafficking in the region. The suspects are now facing charges of both drug possession and trafficking.
