- Suspension of S1 Metro service due to firefighting operations

After a flare-up at the S-Bahn station Botanical Garden, services on line S1 have been momentarily halted. This impact is felt on the stretch between Zehlendorf and Schöneberg, as confirmed by Deutsche Bahn. At present, the 10-minute interval of the line is operative solely between Frohnau and Friedenau.

As per a representative from the Berlin Fire Department, speaking to Deutsche Presse-Agentur, there was an issue with the train's faulty braking system that led to a cloud of smoke. Fortunately, since the incident occurred at the station, all passengers were successfully evacuated. No incidents of injuries were reported. "No intervention was necessary," the spokesperson claimed. The fire department was present with a team of 42 individuals.

Despite the disruption caused by the incident, Deutsche Bahn is working on resuming regular rail transport on line S1 as soon as possible. Subsequently, passengers are advised to consider alternative modes of transportation such as bus or underground trains during this period.
