Snow chaos - Suspended flight operations in Munich also affect BER

Lufthansa has canceled all eleven flights from Berlin-Brandenburg Airport to Munich for Tuesday. This can be seen from a list of departures on the airport's website. The twelve planned landings of flights from Munich have also been canceled.

Munich Airport suspended its flight operations on Tuesday due to freezing rain. All surfaces were iced over due to freezing rain, said an airport spokesperson. There will therefore be no take-offs and landings from the start of operations at 6.00 am until 12.00 noon. "The plan is to allow air traffic to resume from midday," the airport wrote on its website. "However, it can be assumed that a large number of flights will also have to be canceled during the rest of the day for safety reasons."
