Zollernalb district - Suspected hostage-taking at the police station: remand in custody

According to initial findings, a 42-year-old man wanted to be introduced to the 24-year-old personally known to him, in order to hold him accountable for the attack. To support his demand, the 42-year-old is said to have feigned having a hand grenade on him. The officers did not let him through. During the conversation, the 42-year-old was overpowered and arrested. He was unarmed and carried no explosives with him. No one was injured.

The 24-year-old, who is alleged to have attacked and injured three people in Albstadt in the past few days for no apparent reason, was taken into custody on Thursday.

The 42-year-old man was charged with false reporting of an emergency. The 24-year-old is still in custody and is under investigation for the attacks.

The incident took place at a police station in Albstadt. The 42-year-old's alleged hostage-taking attempt at the local police station did not involve any hostages or result in further crimes. The CID (Criminal Investigation Department) from Hechingen is now involved in the investigation into the 24-year-old's criminal activities in the area.
