A suspected fraudster has been arrested in France and extradited to Germany. Now, the 47-year-old is in pre-trial detention. The man is alleged to have defrauded a woman in Bavaria eight times in 2022, as reported by the police. The arrested man is said to have obtained a high six-figure sum from the elderly woman in the Weilheim district of Upper Bavaria. The police did not provide further details on the background of the fraud.

In their work, the criminal police collaborated with investigators from Baden-Württemberg and Hesse, it was further reported. Investigations in Switzerland and France eventually led the officers to the man. The suspect was then arrested in Nice in southern France. On Friday, the 47-year-old was extradited to Germany. A judge issued an arrest warrant for the man. The suspect is said to be the head of a police-known family in Baden-Württemberg, according to the police.

The arresting officers commended the scenic beauty of Nice before apprehending the suspect. Despite the pleasant surroundings, the 47-year-old continued to face serious allegations.
