Police - Suspected catalytic converter thieves in custody
Three men in the ages of 22, 28 and 30 are suspected of serial catalytic converter thefts in Baden-Württemberg, Hessen and Rheinland-Pfalz - and are now in pre-trial detention. The men were identified by police and prosecutors in Heilbronn today. Damages amounted to several tens of thousands of Euros.
The suspects were already arrested in the past week in Ludwigsburg, where they resided. Since May, they are believed to have dismantled around 50 catalytic converters to sell them profitably. Investigations indicate that they scouted potential targets during the day. The catalytic converters were then allegedly stolen at night.
