- Suspected car thief crashes and runs away on foot

A suspected car thief caused an accident in Nuremberg and then fled on foot. Police officers arrested the man a few minutes later, investigators said. At the scene of the accident, officers found that the 23-year-old's car and its license plates had been reported stolen a few days earlier. The man also did not have a valid driver's license.

Moreover, police found evidence that the man had taken drugs. Therefore, in addition to theft, forgery, and driving without a license, the 23-year-old is now also being investigated for driving under the influence of intoxicants. He was initially released on bail.

The impact of the accident caused significant damage to the surrounding vehicles. Despite the consequences, the alleged car thief failed to report the incident to the authorities.
