Hamburg-Hohenfelde - Suspected burning cigarette triggers apartment fire

Presumably a burning cigarette caused a house fire in the Hohenfelde district of Hamburg on Tuesday night. When the emergency services arrived at the one-bedroom apartment, they found a burning bed, according to a police spokesperson. The occupant of the apartment was taken to hospital with minor burns and suspected smoke inhalation as a precaution. It is being investigated whether the man may have been smoking in bed. Due to the extinguishing water, both the apartment on fire and the apartment below are temporarily uninhabitable. The media had previously reported.
