Public prosecutor's office - Suspect sent to psychiatric ward after alleged murder
Following the suspected murder of a 45-year-old man in the Rot district of Stuttgart, an arrest warrant has been issued for a man three years younger than him. According to the public prosecutor's office, he was taken to a psychiatric hospital while the new investigation group "EG Rot" continues to try to answer unanswered questions about the crime.
A weapon was found in the suspect's apartment. "Whether this is the murder weapon is the subject of the investigation," the police and public prosecutor's office announced on Friday.
The 45-year-old was found shot dead on his balcony on Wednesday evening. Residents had previously reported a gunshot to the police. A short time later, special forces stormed an apartment on Thursday night and arrested the 42-year-old as the suspected perpetrator.
It remains unclear what was behind the crime. According to previous information from security circles, a neighborhood dispute could be behind the suspected murder. The home of the Greek suspect is not far from the victim's home.
