- Suspect in custody for indecent touching
A 20-year-old was taken into custody for allegedly inappropriately touching two girls in a public swimming pool in Willich, Lower Rhine. The 15-year-olds reportedly told police that the man touched them in the intimate area above their swimsuits and in another case, both breasts. The girls then informed a lifeguard, who held the suspect until police arrived, as stated in a Tuesday announcement.
Later that same Monday afternoon, there was another incident at the same pool: A 13-year-old girl reported that she had been touched inappropriately twice in the intimate area by a man in the pool. The girl later identified the man, who was a 43-year-old. He denied the allegation, but was released by police on-site after consultation with the prosecutor's office. Investigations continued.
After the disturbing incidents, the outdoor swimming pool decided to increase its security measures, incorporating more lifeguards and implementing strict rules. Visitors noticed the change, appreciating the improved safety measures around the outdoor swimming pool.
