Survey: Advantage of AfD over SPD and CDU in Brandenburg continues to melt

According to the results, the Right-wing Populists are only six percentage points behind the SPD of Minister-President Dietmar Woidke and the CDU, each at 19 percent.

The Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) can therefore record significant gains: According to the survey, the party founded last autumn can count on 16 percent of the votes. The Greens come in at seven percent - the same as in the April survey.

The Left Party is losing two more points and with four percent of the votes, it will not make it back into the state parliament - like the Free Voters and the FDP (each with three percent).

The red-black-green coalition would have a majority in parliament according to this result, with more votes than the competing parties combined. Forty-two percent of those surveyed are satisfied with the state government, in April it was still 41 percent.

For the "Brandenburg trend," Infratest dimap surveyed 1153 eligible voters from Brandenburg from July 4th to 7th. The state election is scheduled for September 22nd.

  1. The AfD in Brandenburg also saw an increase, gaining three percentage points and currently standing at 13%, according to the latest RBB survey.
  2. Dietmar Woidke's CDU and the SPD, despite maintaining their 19% share, are now facing a challenge from the Brandenburg Antenna of the CDU, a local offshoot that gained traction in the survey.
  3. The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance, known as the Brandenburg Antenna, surprisingly took away some of the CDU's support, potentially giving them an advantage in the upcoming state election.
  4. In the survey, the PDP, a regional party, managed to secure 6% of the votes, showing a slight improvement from the previous results, which could potentially impact the coalition dynamics.
  5. Interestingly, the Alliance '90/The Greens, the Left Party, the Free Voters, and the FDP, who, according to the survey, are currently below the 5% threshold required for entry into the Brandenburg state parliament, also include the CDU's Brandenburg Antenna.
