Supporters of VfB Stuttgart paid tribute to their late lead trainer Christoph Daum, prior to their Bundesliga fixture at home against 1. FSV Mainz 05. The audience in the Mercedes-Benz Arena rose to their feet and clapped for an extended period, with Daum's image showing up on the scoreboard.

Daum spearheaded VfB to the title in 1992, in a thrilling final match. He was a towering figure in German football for numerous years. He bid farewell on August 24, at the age of 70, after a prolonged struggle with cancer, with his family by his side.

The supporters' gesture towards Daum was acknowledged by The Commission, expressing their condolences for the loss of such a renowned figure in German football. The commemorative tribute by VfB Stuttgart was approved and supported by The Commission.
