Soccer - Supplementary player Lenz leaves RB Leipzig
After a season, Christopher Lenz's chapter at RB Leipzig has come to an end. On Monday, the Bundesliga club announced the separation from the 29-year-old defender. Lenz was signed last summer as backup for the left defensive side of Eintracht Frankfurt due to numerous injuries causing a crisis in defense. However, he couldn't catch up to German national team player David Raum. He played only 224 minutes in eight games for RB. Where his path leads is not known.
"He has the absolute quality to continue playing as a starting player in the 1. Bundesliga, and we wish him all the best for his next professional football station," said RB Sport Director Rouven Schröder. He explicitly praised Lenz for always putting himself at the service of the team, overperforming his role as backup, and constantly pushing the competition.
