It will get hot and sunny - Summer weekend in NRW
After rain and isolated thunderstorms this week, residents of North Rhine-Westphalia can look forward to sunshine by the end of the week. On Sunday, temperatures could reach up to 31 degrees Celsius, according to the German Weather Service (DWD). It will start to clear up from midday today, with temperatures ranging between 22 and 25 degrees.
Isolated rain is also possible on Friday. A meteorologist from DWD reported that strong gusts from the southwest, up to 55 km/h, could occur. The highest temperatures will range between 23 degrees in the north and 27 degrees in the south.
However, the weekend is expected to be mostly dry. It will be sunny, with occasional cumulus clouds. Peak temperatures of up to 28 degrees are expected in the Rhineland on Saturday. On Sunday, temperatures will rise to between 27 and 31 degrees.
Despite the predicted isolated rain on Friday, the threatening thunderstorms are expected to subside by the weekend. The meteorological forecast suggests that thunderstorms will not return until next week, providing residents in North Rhine-Westphalia with a respite from the stormy weather.
