Frozen puck games - Sulzer promoted to head coach after assisting penguins
The Bremerhaven-based Fischtown Penguins from the German Ice Hockey League have named Alexander Sulzer, their previous assistant coach, as their new head coach. The news was shared on Tuesday. This appointment comes after the departure of Thomas Popiesch, their successful coach, who moved to Krefeld for personal reasons.
Former national player Sulzer (39), who previously held the position of assistant coach, will now take up the mantle from Popiesch. At his presentation, he said, "The new sports director Sebastian Furchner and I share the same vision for ice hockey, have great aspirations, and aim to advance the current and future of our team together."
