Successful start: Wiesbaden wins in Belgium
In their first European Cup appearance since the 2015/16 season, the volleyball players of VC Wiesbaden have put themselves in a good position to progress in the CEV Challenge Cup. The Bundesliga club coached by Benedikt Franz won the first leg against Bevo Rekkenshop Roeselare from Belgium 3:1 (25:22, 15:25, 25:23, 25:16) on Wednesday. Only in the second set did the Hessians' success come under threat.
The team with more winning sets in total will qualify for the next round. The decision will be made on November 15 in the sports hall at Platz der Deutschen Einheit.
The victory against Bevo Rekkenshop Roeselare in Roeselare was Wiesbaden's first in the CEV Challenge Cup since the 2015/16 season. In the return leg of the CEV Challenge Cup, VC Wiesbaden will aim to replicate their success in Belgium and secure their place in the next round.
