Berlin's Fruits Market is aiming for a world record with a colossal fruit salad - and has secured two companies to handle the post-event food management. In honor of the market's 75th anniversary, scheduled for mid-September, organizers are planning to assemble approximately 11 metric tons of fruit salad. Around 18 tons of fruit will be required for this feat.

The entire fruit salad will be donated to the Berlin Food Bank, but the food bank cannot utilize such massive quantities without additional processing. Stepping forward to lend a hand are the Florida ice cream factory and the confectionery Reichert.

As stated by business manager Olaf Höhn, Florida Ice plans to produce smoothies, multi-fruit ice cream, or jelly from the excess fruit. The revenues generated from these sales will subsequently be contributed to the food banks.

Conversely, pastry chef Tobias Menge from confectionery Reichert revealed their intentions to utilize the fruit to create a spread. This spread could then be supplied to the food bank's distribution points. If sold in their own shops, they too desire to donate the resulting profits.

As of now, Berlin's Fruits Market is still recruiting volunteers who are interested in helping prepare the fruit salad during the record-breaking event on September 15th.

The Florida ice cream factory and the confectionery Reichert, both based in different locations, have agreed to assist in processing the excess fruit from Berlin's Fruit Market's world record attempt in Florida.

After processing, the Florida ice cream factory will sell products like smoothies, multi-fruit ice cream, or jelly, with the revenues going directly to food banks, demonstrating their support for the initiative.
