The famous team, Wasserfreunde Spandau 04, is about to claim another championship win. They managed to secure a victory in their second match against Waspo 98 Hannover with a score of 15-13 (3:1, 5:3 - 4:6, 3:3) on Saturday. This means they are leading in the Best-of-Five final series for men with a score of 2:0. To clinch their 39th title, they need to win another match on Sunday at 3:00 PM at Schwimmhalle Schöneberg. They narrowly won the first encounter in Hannover with 14:12 in a penalty shootout.

Spandau began the game against their arch-rivals with great concentration and skill. Going into the second quarter, they had already taken a 6:1 lead and 8:4 lead by halftime. Despite this, Hannover didn't give up and managed to reduce the gap to 7:8 and then 10:12 before the final quarter. Spandau fought back and scored three goals in a row, making the score 15:10. Although Waspo attempted to catch up, they couldn't reverse the outcome. Prime scorers for Spandau were Tamas Sedlmayer, Marin Tomasovic, and Andrei Prioteasa (each 3). Niclas Kai Schipper added seven goals to Waspo's score.

In the simulataneous Best-of-Three final for women, Spandau 04 handily beat SSV Esslingen with a resounding 25:6 (12:3). On the other hand, in the men's placement playoffs, Potsdam suffered their first loss against ASV Duisburg 12:13. Neukölln claimed seventh place in the league's survival game against SV Krefeld 72. They won the match on the road with a score of 14:11.
