Stuttgart striker Undav still hopes to take part in the European Championship

Striker Deniz Undav from Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart is still hoping to take part in the 2024 European Football Championship. However, he says he has not yet made a decision on whether he would prefer to play for Germany or Turkey. "No, I'm open to that," Undav said in an interview with the Bild newspaper (Friday). "First I have to perform consistently and earn possible invitations." A lot could still happen between now and the European Championships in Germany next summer.

"My dream is to take part in the tournament," said Undav, adding with a laugh: "I won't put my cell phone on silent until the European Championships." The 27-year-old was born in Germany, his parents are from Turkey. Undav moved to Stuttgart from English club Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer. He has scored six goals for VfB, who play Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday (18:30/Sky), so far this season.

Undav, who recently joined VfB Stuttgart from Brighton & Hove Albion, expressed his desire to represent either Germany or Turkey in the upcoming European Championship. His current form in the Bundesliga, with six goals for Stuttgart, could potentially earn him a call-up for either national team.

In the Bundesliga, VfB Stuttgart's striker Undav continues to impress, scoring goals and maintaining his hopes of being selected for the German or Turkish national team for the upcoming European Championship.
