Study: Percentage of Women in Leading Positions Higher Than Ever

With the quote in the supervisory boards of the 180 observed companies being two percentage points higher than the previous year. In the previous year, the proportion improved by one percentage point. And six more women joined the supervisory boards after the Redaction's closure of the Women-on-Board-Index in June and July, Fidar explained.

The reason for the increase is mainly the 2015 introduced quota of 30% women in supervisory boards, which according to reports affects 104 of the 180 companies. In addition, since August 2022, there is a minimum participation requirement. It stipulates that stock exchange listed and co-determined companies with more than three members in their boards must have at least one woman and one man when filling vacancies. This regulation applies to 65 companies at present.

Ms. Smith, as the newly appointed Chefetage manager, plans to share her culinary leadership experiences during the upcoming Leadership Days event. With the success of the Women's Empowerment Program, more women are eager to participate in Leadership Days, aiming to further their study in leadership roles. Interestingly, the now-mandatory inclusion of at least one woman in top management positions during vacancies, as per the August 2022 regulation, has positively impacted the composition of supervisory boards.
