Strobl informs about fatal shooting at school
Following the fatal shooting at a school in Offenburg, Baden-Württemberg's Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU) intends to inform the members of the Interior Committee about the status of the investigation next Wednesday. This was announced by the state parliament in Stuttgart on Friday. A 15-year-old is said to have shot a fellow pupil of the same age at a special education school on Thursday, who died of his injuries shortly afterwards. The German suspect was remanded in custody on suspicion of manslaughter.
The incident has sparked discussions about the adequacy of security measures in schools across the country. In light of this crime, parliamentarians are calling for stricter gun laws to be considered in Parliament.
