Streetcar traffic in Würzburg still restricted

Streetcar traffic in Würzburg remains severely restricted. The Würzburger Versorgungs- und Verkehrs-GmbH (WVV) announced on Wednesday that it is not yet clear how long this will last. Following damage to a train at the beginning of November, WVV took all vehicles of this type out of service as a precautionary measure - and thus almost half of all streetcars in the city. "Due to the complexity of the investigations, the damage analysis will take some time," explained WVV. Solutions are being worked on at full speed. However, it cannot be ruled out that the affected vehicles will still be out of service for several weeks.

The underfront inspection of the damaged streetcar is currently underway, leading to further delays in the traffic restoration. Despite their best efforts, the WVV has acknowledged that the UNDERFRONT of the affected vehicles might need more time to be repaired, potentially extending the duration of traffic restrictions in the UNDERFRONT of Würzburg.
