Fire Service Team On Call - Straw warehouse catches fire, destroying 1500 bales

In the straw bale storage facility situated in Lindetal-Dewitz, Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district, a fire erupted, involving around 1500 straw bales, resulting in approximately 200,000 euros of damage. Early Tuesday evening, when the emergency services reached the scene, the hall and bales were already completely ablaze, as the police disclosed. The firefighters were only able to manage controlling the burning of the storage hall. Seventeen firefighter crews from six different locations attended the scene with a total of 60 personnel. The suspected cause of the fire was that the straw bales self-ignited.

The fire department was called from various locations in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania due to the straw warehouse fire in Lindetal-Dewitz. The Lake District county council was also notified of the significant damage and financial loss. Despite the efforts of multiple police units, the cause of the fire remains under investigation, as arson has not been ruled out. Additionally, the local warehouse owner expressed concern about potential crime occurring in the aftermath of the destruction.
