Fires - Straw bales burnt down - possible arson

Around 300 bales of straw burnt down completely in a field near Klettenberg (Nordhausen district) on Monday evening. Police said on Tuesday that arson could not be ruled out at present. The amount of property damage is estimated at around 12,000 euros. Due to the heavy smoke development and the fire department operation, the 2064 country road was fully closed for around three hours. The criminal investigation department has begun investigating the cause of the fire and is looking for witnesses.
