DEL - Straubing Tigers give talented goalkeeper Lehner a professional chance

The Straubing Tigers are giving talented goaltender Valentin Lehner the opportunity to get a taste of the professional game. As the club from the German Ice Hockey League announced on Tuesday, the 17-year-old is the fourth goalkeeper in the squad. "We are very pleased that Philipp Dietl has been called up to the provisional squad for the U20 World Championship. We are therefore signing Valentin Lehner for the World Cup period," said Sporting Director Jason Dunham.

"Valentin has often trained with us in recent years. He is a talented young goalkeeper who is very ambitious about his career," Dunham explained. The 17-year-old was active in the junior teams of EHC Straubing and moved to Deggendorfer SC last season, where he can play for both the U20 team and the Oberliga squad.
