By evening, the storms may progressively expand southwards, reaching the High Rhine and the northern Alps, some claimed. There's a potential for severe thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rainfall in the Alps during the night. In eastern Germany, the German Weather Service (DWD) forecasts the possibility of intense thunderstorms with rainfall levels between 15-25 liters per square meter within a short time. Locally, storms could result in up to 30 liters per square meter precipitation.
