Stormy Daniels seeks incarceration for Trump following groundbreaking conviction.
The adult film actress, also known as Stephanie Clifford, suggested that Donald Trump should face jail time and community service for the less fortunate, or volunteer his services at a women's shelter. She made this statement in regards to her alleged sexual encounter with Trump in 2006, which he denies.
To keep quiet about their alleged affair, which could have been revealed just before the 2016 presidential election, Trump authorised a $130,000 payment (approximately €122,000) to be made. Trump masked these funds as legal fees.
Daniels found testifying in court to be intimidating, with jurors observing her every move. She also mentioned that she had always been truthful about their alleged sexual encounter, believing it to be consensual but with an uneven balance of power. This case will be a lifelong burden for her, she stated.
History was made on Thursday as Trump became America's first former president to be found guilty in a criminal trial. The jury found Trump guilty in all 34 counts of the hush money case. His sentence will be announced on July 11th.
Donald Trump labelled the trial against him as "unfair." After the guilty verdict was announced, his campaign immediately released a fundraising appeal titled "I'm a political prisoner!" Trump is widely speculated to be running for the presidency again for the Republicans this November, facing off against the current Democrat president Joe Biden.
