Rail traffic - Storms: Train line between Bremen and Hamburg closed

Due to bad weather, the train track between Bremen and Hamburg is closed indefinitely. Long-distance trains will be rerouted without stops over Hannover in the evening of Thursday, as the railway announced. Metronom regional trains are cancelled. The length of time the track is closed due to heavy rain at Tostedt (Harburg district) is uncertain. Further information stated that the tracks between Lauenbrück and Buchholz were flooded. Passengers are asked to inform themselves about their train connections in advance.

The disrupted rail traffic has forced long-distance trains to take a detour through Lower Saxony, bypassing Bremen and going via Hannover. This storm-induced closure of the Railroad track between Bremen and Hamburg has impacted train routes significantly. The weather conditions in Tostedt, part of the Harburg district, have led to heavy rain, causing uncertainty about the reopening of the track. Passengers traveling from Bremen to Hamburg or vice versa should closely monitor their long-distance train routes during this period, considering the potential rerouting of traffic due to the storm.
