Retail trade - Stores in Berlin open on the first Sunday in Advent
Berlin begins the Advent season with Sunday shopping. Many stores and shopping centers open their doors on the first Advent from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. - some even two hours longer, according to the Semat. Numerous Christmas markets in Berlin will also open this weekend. In some towns in Brandenburg, including Falkensee and Brandenburg an der Havel, stores can also stay open on this Sunday, according to the Berlin-Brandenburg Trade Association.
In Berlin, up to eight Sundays a year may be open for business. The dates are determined by the Senate. The last Sunday open for business this year is planned for December 17.
