Schwaig - Store operator shoots customers with a gun: Arrest

A heavily intoxicated store owner from Schwaig near Nuremberg shot two of his customers with a blank-firing pistol. Initially, a 44-year-old man had wanted to collect parcels from the store, the police said on Tuesday. When he knocked on the closed door, the 37-year-old operator came in and fired a gun in the man's direction. He then went back inside.

When another customer then came in, the 37-year-old appeared again with the gun, it was further reported. Again, he fired in the direction of the men. As a result, numerous police officers and a support squad surrounded the store on Monday. The suspected perpetrator was arrested. A breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of 3.4 per mille.

The officers found a blank-firing pistol and an air rifle in the store, as a police spokeswoman explained. Blood was taken from the 37-year-old. He is now facing proceedings for threatening and violating the Weapons Act. The reason for the crime was initially unclear. The suspect was admitted to a specialist clinic due to his mental condition.
