Stone thrown at regional train - extensive damage

Unknown persons have thrown a stone at a moving train in Munich and damaged a window. This caused several thousand euros worth of damage on Monday, as the federal police announced on Tuesday. No people were injured in the incident. The 36-year-old train driver noticed several impacts while driving and informed the federal police. According to the investigators, the damage to property amounts to around 3,000 euros.

In Upper Bavaria, this incident of vandalism is not an isolated case, as railroad property has been targeted by criminals several times. Despite the traffic disruptions and costs, no measures have been announced to enhance security on regional trains in the region.
