Federal President - Steinmeier visits porcelain factory and Bundeswehr
Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier concluded his three-day visit to Weiden on Thursday. The third day of his "On-Site Germany" tour focused on a visit to the Bundeswehr base in Frauenricht and a tour of the Seltmann Porcelain Factory.
The porcelain industry has a long tradition in the Weiden region, but the sector has been under significant economic pressure for years. Changes are also under discussion in the Bundeswehr, with the potential relocation of entire units in Weiden.
Steinmeier conducted his duties as head of state for three days in Weiden, Oberpfalz. On the first day, he met with local politicians and young people at a youth center and a football club. On the second day, the president addressed the concerns of the youth, including at a kindergarten.
